SHINE BRIGHT LIKE A DIAMOND
TARA AND KEVIN
This past weekend we had the greatest pleasure of shooting our very first wedding at the Diamond in Gastown, Vancouver. Being a place we frequent for their decadent cocktails - and may I just mention, the best rendition of a Moscow Mule and my personal favorite, the Buck Buck Mule - the Diamond certainly felt like home turf. And home was definitely a prevailing theme that day - with a tight knit group of friends and family coming in from all directions to celebrate the union of these two wonderful individuals. Hand made bouquets, an abundance of homemade pies and beautifully crafted wedding cakes, were merely the cherries on top to the warm, loving camaraderie that made the party.
This was a simple but in every way, a tasteful and enriched wedding. Guests were advised against using their cell phones - documentation of the wedding was solely in our hands (pressure was on...) so that everyone could simply enjoy being in the moment with each other. I think that concept alone ties into what made this whole day so wonderful - it was organic. For the most part, no one was busy posing or finding ways to emphasize how good of a time they were having. They simply lived.
